THE LAND OF LOST TOYS

I'm in love with the photographs of Davina Zagury, especially with this collection entitled "The Land of Lost Toys". I came across this beautiful collection through the Babyccinokids blog. Davina Zagury explores the memories and stories that toys can possess, and each image has a description of the year and place the toy was found. I Love how a picture of something so old and once well loved can look so modern and minimal.
"Among our deepest memories, where one stores the thoughts of one’s loved ones, where one cherishes one’s possessions, one hides one’s childhood, the childhood of old and lost toys. It happens, we don’t say our last word, we don’t whisper one last secret, and we don’t shed a tear and give a kiss good-bye. They do appear in the course of our lives more than once, in unknown streets, in the old markets, in abandoned backyards. They just stand there with no identity, with no name, with no child. The Land of Lost Toys was created between 2003 – 2007. I was drawn to work on this project when I came across a tricycle on a street in Jafa, Israel. The tricycle brought back memories of my childhood and I wondered about the child who had owned it and lost it, in time. I decided to look for other lost toys. Toys that have an interesting history, hold wonderful stories, and lived in far away places. I was attracted to toys that I sensed had memories worth being cherished, and I wanted to give something back to them."

PARIS

How I love Paris! I've just been to visit the trade show Playtime, which is a lovely and well organized show by the way. And what an inspirational, romantic, beautiful city! I have visited some amazing shops, which I would love to share with you, also great with kids.
LE PETIT BAZAR: A fantastic 130m2 concept store with an integrated shop and cafe. In the shop you can find everything from children's clothing, furnitures, decoration, toys, food to nursing products. At the cafĂ© you can enjoy nice organic products both for parents and children. And here you can also find a nice space to nurse your baby. Le Petit Bazar often organizes different exciting happenings for children, like cooking workshops. (Which gives Mommy some time to get some personal shopping in as well ;-) ) See the website for more details.
MERCI-MERCI: It’s located in a majestic, sun-lit loft where you can browse from room to room just like in a real house. Stop and look through an old-fashioned trunk spilling over with unique creations and finally find that little dress nobody else has yet to wear! After you can cuddle up on a sofa in the book corner as you check out the latest literary sensations while sipping a well-earned lemonade. Before you leave don’t forget to visit the beautiful flower shop where you can buy tiny bunches of roses. And you know what the best part is..You'll be raising money all this time! The profits the store makes from your purchases are donated to different charities.
BON TON CONCEPT STORE: This 800 m2 concept store is the newest Bonton shop in Paris. It combines a very nice shop and, a children's hairdresser. In the shop you can find all the products from the Bonton universe: furnitures, clothes, shoes, nursery accessories, and toys. All in high quality and in beautiful designs.
SERENDIPITY: A Fantastic concept store for children's furniture, toys, interior, design and decoration. You just want to buy it all. Worth a visit for sure!
